Kenzi Podell is a licensed and nationally board-certified music therapist, Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow (NMT-F)®, and has begun her training in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapist (NICU-MT), as Kenzi is familiar with the NICU setting and population.
She received her degree in Music Therapy from Georgia College, where she served as Vice President and President of the Music Therapy Society. During her studies, Kenzi completed her internship with the Fulton County School System, where she worked with ages Pre-K through transitional school with a variety of neuro and developmental disabilities.
Within Kenzi’s 5 years of certification, she has gained experience with children and adults with developmental disabilities, children with emotional/behavior disorders, childhood development, Autistic individuals that communicate verbally or through S2C or AAC device, and adaptive music lessons in trumpet, french horn, piano, and ukulele. While practicing, Kenzi became a certified provider in the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care through Jacob’s Ladder. This model of care focuses further on the brain and body’s connection in Autistic individuals. Kenzi is also learning American Sign Language (ASL) to utilize in her personal life and career.
Previously, Kenzi has studied abroad in Jamaica, learning a variety of techniques in Nyabinghi drumming and cultural singing. While abroad, she primarily worked with the school-aged Deaf community, providing music that focused on vibrations and social engagement.
Alongside providing therapeutic services, Kenzi manages all branding, marketing, and media-based material as the Communications Director. For any media inquiries, please reach out to Kenzi directly. She also enjoys enhancing the studies of interns, providing supervision and education to interns since 2021 through this position.
Kenzi went through music therapy in elementary school and found her passion then. She hopes to support others using music the way it changed her life. Outside of music, Kenzi enjoys crafting, watching Disney movies with her cats, and adventuring with her husband and daughter.
