Ashlyn Kolbert
Music Therapy Intern
Ashlyn Kolbert is coming to PHH from Belmont University in Nashville, TN, where she is completing her bachelor's degree in Music Therapy. Through her education, Ashlyn received clinical experience working with older adults in assisted living and school-aged children with Down syndrome at Gigi's Playhouse. She also gained hours at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, as well as with inpatient adults and adolescents at TriStar Psychiatric Hospital. Ashlyn’s former job was as a Music Empowerment Specialist at a day program for adults with IDD. Through this position, Ashlyn taught songwriting classes, led groups in music and communication, provided individual lessons in voice, guitar, and piano, and formed an interabled band that toured the community. Ashlyn performed in her first musical when she was 10 years old and has been passionate about musical performance ever since. She has rich experience participating in various productions both on stage and behind the scenes, as well as being the founder and director of a children’s theater camp. She is most passionate about singing and vocal pedagogy, and was selected to sing 2 solo pieces in the Fall 2024 Belmont Classical Singers Recital. Ashlyn is excited to utilize this experience therapeutically at PHH and through Roswell Players. Ashlyn enjoys cross-stitching, trying new restaurants/coffee shops, and winding down with a good book.
