What is Gigi’s Playhouse?

Happy World Down Syndrome Day! Today is a day to celebrate the extra personalities, laughs, and smiles that those with Down Syndrome bring us! To celebrate, we want to share a wonderful local resource available: Gigi’s Playhouse!

Gigi’s Playhouse is a non-profit with locations all around the United States, but specifically, one in Alpharetta, GA! It is right down the street from our practice and has just opened a brand new portion of its facility! “GiGi’s Playhouse was created to change the way the world views a Down syndrome diagnosis and send a global message of acceptance for all.”

Similar to our mission, Gigi’s Playhouse understands the difficulties families may face while receiving a Down Syndrome diagnosis of their child. They strive to provide resources, therapies, and a center for community and support.

If you visit Gigi’s Playhouse website, you’ll see how involved they truly are in the community! Each week, they provide over 15+ opportunities for kids, teens and adults to participate in fun activities like dancing, cooking, Zumba, and more! One of our favorite activities they offer is…. music therapy!

Make it stand out

Each week, our therapists head over to Gigi’s Playhouse for the most adorable, giggly, heart-warming music therapy group ever! Our music therapists utilize childhood developmental concepts to create sessions for little ones age 0-5.

The best part about this program? It’s 100% FREE to all families! Thanks to generous donors and our ‘Create-a-Contract’ program for interns, we can support both Gigi’s Playhouse’s mission and ours by providing a FREE music therapy group!

Because of the excitement from this adorable little group, families at Gigi’s Playhouse requested music therapy for older children ages 5+! Once a month, visit Gigi’s Playhouse on a beautiful Saturday morning to make music, work on social skills, and let your kiddo become a rockstar of their own!
