Music is processed in both hemispheres of the brain.  Music has the ability to stimulate cognitive functioning and may be used for the remediation of some speech/language skills. Therapy is provided at Gigi’s Playhouse in Alpharetta.

GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization funded solely by donations, dedicated to providing free therapeutic programming, resources, and support to families of individuals with T21/ Trisomy 21/Down syndrome. Programs at GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta address the developmental needs of children with T21/Down syndrome, including the areas of gross motor, fine motor, intellectual, social, and communication development.  The earlier aggressive therapeutic interventions take place in these areas, the greater the possibility that GiGi’s participants will achieve a more independent life.
