Sydney Smith
Music Therapy Intern
Sydney Smith is completing her bachelor's degree in music therapy from of the University of Miami and is currently doing her 6-month internship here at Perfect Harmony Health. Through her studies and work life, she has gained valuable and diverse hands-on experience working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, veterans, pediatric palliative care patients, disadvantaged youth, as well as children and adults with psychiatric needs.
Sydney was introduced to the beauty of music-making via the saxophone and piano but has always appreciated how music can influence positive change in an individual's life. Sydney hopes to learn and expand her knowledge of music therapy through her internship and strives to always put her best work forward and leave a positive influence on the world.
Outside of work, Sydney engages in many artistic and fun hobbies, such as crochet, painting, drawing, playing video games, and writing. She also enjoys traveling, finding new recipes, and spoils her two guinea pigs, Lucy and Ollie.
